Velda grew up in Winder, Georgia and graduated from Athens Technical College.  She is a physical therapist assistant and has worked in outpatient rehab for the last six years.  She enjoys lifting weights, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Sheena Whitmire Durden, PTA

Sheena is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with more than 8 years of experience. Sheena holds an Associate’s degree in Applied Science for Physical Therapist Assistant  from Athens Technical College.  She also became certified with the National Council of Strength and Fitness in 2008.  She joined Anderson Physical Therapy Associates in June 2013.
Sheena has exclusively practiced in the outpatient setting.  Her area’s of experience include outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, post-operative rehabilitation and spinal care. Sheena has a background working with geriatric populations with vestibular disorders and generalized weakness. She also has extensive experience training and working with athletes in resolving various sports injuries and returning to play. Sheena has rehabilitated male and female athletes at the collegiate, high school, recreational and youth club levels.

Shawna Anderson, MPT Owner

Shawna is a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia since 2010 and in Florida since 1997. Shawna grew up in the western part of the U.S., her family settling in Florida where she graduated high school and college and began her career in Physical Therapy.

Shawna has a wide variety of experience including orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, geriatric care, men and women’s health and medically complex patients including intensive care/ventilator dependence. At Shawna’s last position in Florida she oversaw the results and training of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation department as the Director of Rehabilitation for a large multi-site nursing home. In her transition to practicing in Georgia, Shawna performed home health rehabilitation to patients in Jackson County.  Here she learned from her patients of the need for individualized, personal outpatient physical therapy care and opened Anderson Physical Therapy Associates in Braselton in 2012.

Outside of work Shawna enjoys mountain biking, camping and traveling. She lives with her husband in Dacula. Shawna volunteers her time at church, with Adopt-a-Road, Junior League of Gainesville/Hall County, Rotary Club, Hoschton Area Business Alliance and the Good News Clinic in Gainesville. In the past she has worked as a soccer organizer in the 1996 Olympics and was on the Board for the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis.

Corey Hill was born in Bristol, Tennessee and grew up in Snellville, Georgia. Shannon Ellis, PTA

Shannon is a Physical Therapist Assistant licensed in the state of Georgia, and working in outpatient rehabilitation settings for the past 7 years. Shannon has lived in Georgia for the last 3 years and before that grew up in Indiana. Shannon has her Associates of Applied Science from Brown Mackie College in South Bend, IN.

Shannon’s focus in therapy is with orthopedics and athletics but she is also well versed with geriatrics and stroke pts. Shannon has worked with military, public safety, athletes of all ages and enjoys all age groups when she is working. She has experience with complex surgical rehabs, as well as basic procedures that require therapy as well.

Shannon lives in Gainesville with her husband, 2 daughters and son, where they enjoy time with family and friends as often as they can.

Stephanie Hope, PT, DPT

Stephanie Hope was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in Cumming, GA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. She worked in human resources and corporate training before deciding to go back to school to become a physical therapist. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of North Georgia and began working in outpatient orthopedics. She has recently started to specialize in pelvic floor rehabilitation and joined the practice in December 2016, working at the Gainesville location. She specializes in outpatient orthopedics with a concentration in pelvic floor dysfunction. She is certified in dry needling and STAR oncology rehab. Stephanie lives with her husband, new baby boy, and Zelda the wonder dog in Dawsonville. She enjoys biking, pilates, and baking in her free time.
